It must be understood that the combat action for this day was so severe with so many enemy and RAF aircraft in the air it is almost impossible to get an exact figure of the total casualties, aircraft destroyed, and who was claiming for what. Although the above figures are taken from official records it is impossible to determine their accuracy.
